We respect your privacy, and as such, your Okay Humans therapist will not follow you on any social media platform. You have the right to identify yourself as a guest of Okay Humans in public formats, such as commenting on our Instagram page, but we are required to maintain the confidentiality of our guests, therefore we will not respond on any platform in any way that could confirm nor deny you as a guest of Okay Humans. We might respond in a generic way that does not identify your status as a guest, such as a high five emoji in response to a generic comment made by you.
Your therapist can not be your friend or follower on social media platforms. The sharing of social media profiles blur the boundary between your respective privacies and creates a risk for a dual relationship (e.g. therapist and friend). Your therapist does not review your social media unless you are present and together and it’s been determined that such review will be beneficial to the therapy process.
Social media is not therapy and does not constitute a therapeutic engagement with an Okay Humans therapist or Okay Humans. Any information gleaned from our social media platforms is not to be a substitute for therapy.
